So this is just a quick post in regards to my new website cruisncanada.com
JustGoShoot has been a great place for me to play with my blogging, but my interests are moving over to my new site. This site will deal with some of the things that this site dealt with including a lot of photography and videography topics. The biggest thing though will be the inclusion of motorcycle gear, reviews, rides and whatever else that is or has anything to do with my motorcycle riding.
So I hope you come join me over there. I look forward to hearing from you all.
So I had the opportunity to join up and participate in the Ottawa Ride for Dad. And what a fantastic day it was. I’m still very new to motorcycle riding but this is and was something that I have wanted to participate in ever since I heard about this event.
(Me at the Ride For Dad starting point – Canadian Aviation Museum)
The Ride for Dad (if you are unaware) is a fund raising event to raise money in support of prostate cancer. It is held in many cities all over the country. This year there was a guess that somewhere between 1500 and 2500 motorcycles would be attending the ride. I must say that as of 6am on June 1st I was unsure as to how many motorcycles would show up as we got hit by a pretty hard rain that came in nice and fast and pretty much soaked me on my way to meet some of my motorcycle club members for a pre ride breakfast.
Luckily for us as we finished breakfast the rain had pretty much stopped and our day of riding was soon to begin.
(Bike parked at the end of the parade – Getting ready for the poker run)
By about 7:30 am we had arrived at the starting point (which was the Ottawa Aviation Museum) and there was a good number of bikes that were there already, but not as much as I had expected. That quickly changed. Within the next 30 minutes the bikes arrived. Individuals, groups, clubs all began to show up and I knew that this was going to be a great day.
(sitting at a gas station (after a needed refuel) just after the first check in point for the Poker Run)
I encourage any and all that have a motorcycle to consider looking in your area to see if there is a Ride for Day, and join in the fun. The parade of motorcycles lasts for about 90 minutes. After that if you feel like it, there is a poker run. For us, that part took about 4-5 hours with all the breaks and stops for gas and lunch. But what a great day, and its all for a fantastic cause.

I was also riding with a GoPro attached to my helmet for the actual parade. Have a watch. Hope to see some of you next year!!
So Canon has the new 6D and Nikon has the new D600. So when you just look at the specs it kinda looks like the Nikon should completely dominate this competition. But is that how it goes down? Watch the video below to see how the two cameras compare.
So I broke my Sigma 17-70 lens. So So Sad. And it was completely my fault. Any ways I have replace it with a Tamron 17-50 lens. Check out my video below to see what I think of the new lens.
So yesturday I posted a video review of the iOS app Filmic Pro. Once of the features that I really liked was the stabilizer. Now since the video i was showing was being screen captured there was a fair bit of quality loss. So today I went and hooked my iPhone to my mount in my car. Drove around and recorded it, to see how well the stabilizer within Filmic Pro worked. Pretty good indeed. Anyways take a look and let me know what you think.
So I came across this cool app called Filmic Pro for iOS (iPhone and iPad) and I must say that it is pretty cool. If you use your iPhone or iPad to do video recording this may turn into your ‘GO TO App’. I must say that this will probably be the app that I use most for video recording on the iPhone.
So check out my video review. Hope you like.
So I just received a much faster SDXC card and decided to do some more speed tests with the new card. Seems the actual adapter is actually quite fast and in my previous tests it was the card that was the slow part. Check out the video to see the results with the new card.
